Answer: Puducherry, also known as Pondicherry, is the capital of the union territory Puducherry, based in the south-eastern India. The city is a territory encircled by Tamil Nadu state, on the Coromandel Coast in the Bay of Bengal, 105 miles (170 km) south of Chennai (Madras). Puducherry is currently a seaside tourist place as well as the union territory’s administration centre.
