Answer: India has eight union territories. The President of India nominally governs the Government of India and Union territories, delegating the practical elements of administrative tasks to an Administrator explicitly chosen for a Union territory. Each Union territory’s Administrator has a functional role distinct from that of their peer Administrators in other Union regions.
The following are the eight union territories and their capitals:
