What is TAB

Answer: TAB is a vaccine that is used to prevent typhoid, paratyphoid A and B. This vaccine can cause high fever if taken daily, although it can be reduced for typhoid management. Typhoid is caused by salmonella typhoid.

Heat-treated dead bacterial cells in TAB vaccination kill salmonella. High fever, headache, stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. define typhoid. Food and water contamination cause this. Typhoid is treated with TAB. Optional BCG prevents TB and DT tetanus.

This immunization is no longer used because the paratyphoid component failed.
