The judicial service examination in India stands as one of the most coveted tests for aspiring legal professionals. This examination presents a remarkable prospect for individuals aiming to embark on a career in the judiciary. It is conducted jointly by state governments and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to appoint candidates to the roles of civil judges and magistrates.
The Jharkhand Judiciary Exam 2023 is conducted by the Jharkhand High Court – Ranchi for recruitment of Civil Judge Junior Division.
The recruitment for Jharkhand Civil Judge Jr. Division is done in 3 stages
- Preliminary examination
- Main Examination
- Interview
The candidates who qualify preliminary exam become eligible to take the mains exam. Candidates clearing the Main exam become eligible for the interview round.
The Jharkhand High Court is yet to release the Jharkhand judiciary 2023 exam date. It is expected to be conducted sometime in January 2024.

Jharkhand Judiciary 2023 Exam Pattern
The Jharkhand PCS J Exam Pattern comprises the following three phases:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type): The preliminary examination consists of objective-type questions. Candidates need to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of various legal concepts and subjects. This stage serves as the initial screening process.
- Written Main Examination (Subjective Type): The written main examination is a subjective-type test that assesses candidates’ in-depth knowledge of law. It comprises descriptive questions that require detailed answers. This stage evaluates candidates’ analytical and writing skills.
- Interview: The final stage of the Jharkhand Judiciary Exam is the interview, also known as the oral interview. Candidates who qualify for the main examination are called for a personal interview, where they face a panel of experts.
