In physics, derivations are necessary for a comprehensive understanding of concepts. It explains how the most important Physics formulas are calculated. Derivations help us understand the rationale behind physics topics so that we can better apply them. The formulas’ derivations in physics are based on experiments and observations. Derivation questions are frequently posed in CBSE Board Tests and entrance exams. Through derivations, we can find a logical link between the phenomenon and its mathematical description. Archimedes Principle

When we submerge an object in water, either partially or completely, the object experiences an upward buoyant force equivalent to the weight of the water expelled by the submerged object.

The formula of Archimedes Principle is as follows:

Here  Fb is buoyant force

is fluid density  

 g is acceleration due to gravity

And V is fluid volume

Banking of Roads

When the edges of a curving road are raised a bit above the inner edge in order to apply the appropriate centripetal force for the cars to make a safe turn, this is referred to as banking. This is to prevent you from skidding off the road. The edges are angled horizontally to elevate the road’s outer edge. 

bragg’s Law

The resultant of angles that give out coherent and incoherent scattering from a crystal lattice is known as Bragg’s law, which is a specific case of Laue diffraction. The formula is given as :

Mirror Formula

The Mirror Formula is a developed equation that connects the image distance and object distance to the focal length. A plane mirror is a type of flat surface that creates a straight picture by reversing the back and front of an actual object. The mirror formula are:

Centripetal Acceleration

The force acting on a body travelling in a uniform circular motion is known as centripetal acceleration. In a circular motion, the centripetal force is normal to the velocity. Furthermore, if the particles in a circular motion slow down or speed up, acceleration is generated, causing the net acceleration to change. The formula will be:

Gauss’s Law

The total quantity of electric flux travelling through any closed surface is directly proportional to the enclosed electric charge, according to Gauss’ law. The formula will be:

Kirchhoff’s Laws

In physics, Kirchhoff’s laws describe how current flows through a circuit and how voltage varies across a circuit loop. The principles aid in the simplification of circuits with numerous resistance networks, which are typically difficult to solve due to the use of series and parallel resistors.

Frictional Force

The force that opposes motion when one object’s surface comes into contact with another object’s surface is known as frictional force. Friction diminishes the mechanical advantage of the machine, or the output-to-input ratio. The formula of friction is given as:

Potential Energy

The energy of position is the energy that depends on the relative positions of distinct pieces of a system. When objects are moved from their equilibrium locations before being driven out of equilibrium by elastic rebound, gravity, or chemical reaction, they gain energy that was previously stored in them.

The formula of potential energy is given as:

 U=mgh

Unit of Work

Work is defined in physics as the amount of energy transferred when an object is moved over a distance by an external force. A portion of this force should be applied in the displacement direction. If the force is applied as a component in the direction of displacement at the site of application, the work is deemed positive. If the component of the force is in the opposite direction as the displacement at the point of application, it is deemed negative. Work is a scalar number since it has only one magnitude and no direction. It simply moves energy from one location to another or from one form to another. The SI unit of work is joule, which is the same as the SI unit of energy joule.
