Types of Integration in Salesforce

This article comprises the details on the topic of a short note on types of integration in Salesforce. Along with this it includes topics like what APIs are and what does Salesforce Integration consist of.

Modern businesses require upgraded CRM. For some associations, Salesforce satisfies that need. Salesforce can boost and can be responsible for increase in sales, grow customer loyalty and upgrade marketing capacities. It allows the teams over an association for accessing and influencing the most updated user data to streamline business processes and make the best solutions and services. But, for it to occur, organizations have to build up a Salesforce Integration technique in order to ensure it interfaces with the fundamental enterprise systems.

What does Salesforce Integration consist of?

Salesforce Integration is the process of combining two or more systems, allowing for the simplification of separate processes. Consider instances in your own technology stack where data is stored in one system but also required by another. By integrating them, you can easily manage all of this information across multiple systems and business processes.

Integration is the synchronisation of data across multiple applications. The sync can be either one-way or two-way. The primary objective of integration is the automatic transfer of data. Thus, employees can devote more time to achieving their business objectives, as the automated work of implementing the appropriate integrations is performed by the system.

Integration of Salesforce with their other systems increases productivity and maintains network connectivity. With its built-in integration tools, Salesforce is an absolute necessity.

  • Access to real-time data is simple.
  • Access all data with a single login.
  • Instead of having to log in to multiple systems to access information, it is more convenient for end users to access the data from a single system.
  • It is convenient to report, resulting in more detailed and pertinent reports that will assist them in making better decisions and taking the best actions.
  • An integrated system can also improve team communication.

What are APIs?

API is the abbreviation for Application Programming Interface. It is the means by which two applications can communicate with one another.

For instance, when you use an app on your smartphone, the app connects to the internet, retrieves data from a server, and displays it in a readable format. With the proper API, the entire procedure should proceed without a hitch. There are various API types, which I will discuss later in the section titled “Salesforce Integration Capabilities.”

Types of Salesforce integration-

  1. Single-platform integration-  Integration of a single platform, also known as native integration, is not an integration in the conventional. Many native Salesforce solutions are available on the AppExchange, meaning they are built on the platform. Again, this indicates that neither Salesforce nor these solutions require traditional integration to function. They are inherently designed to share information within the ecosystem. This is the simplest, most cost-effective, and least expensive option, as data sharing is significantly more streamlined and trustworthy. Compared to external integration, single-platform integration requires only one-third as much work to transmit data efficiently. The best Salesforce integration option is single-platform integration.
  2. Custom Code Integration-Integrations of custom-written code are developed for your specific needs and solution. To synchronise data between Salesforce.com and the application, developers must build custom connectors utilising the Salesforce API and hand-coded solutions. Like many others, this integration has disadvantages. These are costly to develop and must be meticulously maintained whenever Salesforce or the application in question is upgraded.
  3. Batch Integration-Probably the most common salesforce integration is batch integration. This integration is dependent on hourly, weekly, or monthly data updates. This feature only provides a single snapshot of data at a time. The data is not uniformly recorded throughout the IT system. Even frequently importing and exporting data can cause applications to become out of sync. When data is updated or altered, it’s unlikely that you’ll observe this in real-time.
  4. Real-Time and Near-Real-Time Data
  • Integration-Real-time integration is generally less difficult and more effective at handling errors and control queues. Nevertheless, as with other integrations, data is constantly flowing between Salesforce and the application. All of this data travelling between systems can still result in delays or malfunctions.
  • Real-Time Mixing-Mashup integrations rely on the creation of a Visualforce user interface to generate customised User Interfaces (UIs). These integrations are renowned for their ability to efficiently assess and share data from external systems. However, real-time is still subject to restrictions. Consequently, this is ideal for smaller integrations that utilise less data. In addition, workflow and reporting functions cannot be applied to external data using this method.

Types of Integration in Salesforce CRM

Data Integration is necessary when you need to sync data from two or more systems. Resulting in  every extension that has been integrated will share real-time data.

Business Logic Integration. This particular type of integration allows the building of powerful all-round business solutions that incorporate various back-end systems and apps.

User Interface integration. If you want to build a centralised user experience for every user, then you might want to consider user interface integration. Salesforce provides tools necessary to do so, even if users utilise different applications in various languages.

CONCLUSION–

We live in a digital era in which we must constantly improve our efficiency and our customers’ experiences in order to remain competitive; it is now uncommon for a system to operate in isolation. Integration of our systems must continue to improve so that we can do it more quickly and on a larger scale.
