Fahrenheit to Celsius Formula

To convert degree Fahrenheit (ºF) to degree Celsius (ºC) , we are required to use the following formula:-

T_C=5/9*(T_F-32)

Where:

T_C = Temperature in Celsius

 T_F = Temperature in Fahrenheit

Solved Examples

1. Convert 86ºF to ºC

T_C=5/9*(T_F-32)

T_C=5/9*(86-32)

T_C=5/9*(54)

T_C=30

Thus, 86ºF is equal to 30ºC.

2. Convert 115ºF to ºC

T_C=5/9*(T_F-32)

T_C=5/9*(115-32)

T_C=5/9*(83)

T_C=46.1

Thus, 115ºF is equal to 46.1ºC.

3. Convert normal body temperature 98.6ºF to ºC

T_C=5/9*(T_F-32)

T_C=5/9*(98.6-32)

T_C=5/9*(66.6)

T_C=37

Thus, the normal body temperature of 98.6ºF is equal to 37ºC.
