The CA Foundation exam consists of four papers- Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4. Each paper is divided into different sections. The examination pattern for the CA Foundation course is given below:

CA Foundation Exam Pattern 2024 – Details
The CA Foundation Exam Pattern for the year 2024 is as follows:
- The CA Foundation examination consists of four papers.
- Paper 1 and Paper 2 are subjective type papers.
- Paper 3 and Paper 4 are objective type papers.
- The CA Foundation exam is conducted for a total of 400 marks, with each paper carrying 100 marks.
- Negative marking is applicable to objective papers, deducting one-fourth mark for each incorrect answer.
- The exam is conducted in offline mode.
- The medium of the exam is either English or Hindi, except for Section (b) of Paper 2, which is compulsory to be taken in English language only.
CA Foundation Passing Criteria 2024
The passing criteria for the CA Foundation exam in 2024 are as follows:
- A candidate must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper.
- An aggregate of 55% marks is required in all four papers combined.
- Candidates who score below the specified passing criteria set by ICAI will not be considered as pass. Such candidates will have to reappear for the CA Foundation papers.
