What are the properties of the Lanthanides?

Ans: Lanthanides are the elements of the periodic table that start from Lanthanum (57) to Lutetium (71). The following are the properties of the Lanthanides:-

• They are soft metals and can be easily cut by a knife
• They are lustre and have a silvery appearance.
• They also have a capacity to reduce coordination numbers across series
• Have very small crystal field effects
• Little or very less dependency on Ligands
