sir I have a question A train met with an accident 60km away from anantpur station .it completed the remaining journey at 5/6th of the previous speed and reached the baramula station 1hr 12min late.had the accident taken place 60km further,it would have been only 1hr late. 1) what is the normal spped of the train? 2)what is the distance between anantpur and baramula?

  1. TIME, SPEED AND DISTANCE Practice Questions 3

  2. Rajdhani express usually takes 150 minutes from Lucknow to Banaras. One day, after covering 20% of the distance from Lucknow engine developed a problem, which reduces its speed(compared to its usual speed) by 25 km/hr for remining part of the journey. If it took a total of 190 minutes to cover the entire journey, find the distance (in kilometre) between two stations.? a. 200 km b. 250 km c. 300 km d. 320 km ISRO launched a PSLV from earth to its orbit at a certain speed. At the end of every two hour of its journey, it trebles its speed. The PSLV would take 728 hours for entire journey, if it travel entire distance at the same speed at which it took off initially. Find the actual time taken by PSLV for the entire journey. a. 6 hours b. 12 hours . 20 hours d. 40 hours When travelling at a certain speed, consumption of diesel, in litres/km, by a vehicle increases by 20% during uphill and decreases by 40% during downhill journey, i.e., on level surface and at the same speed Two hill stations, A and B, are separated by a distance of 500 km, and the distance for which the road from A to B runs uphill is one-fifth of the distance for which it runs downhll. Further, the distance for which the road runs on level surface is 150 km. For a round trip from A to B and back a vehicle consumed 93 litres of Diesel. What is the mileage(in km/litre) given by the vehicle for the downhill journey? a. 15 km/It b. 16 km/It 3 c. 26 km/lt 3 d. 16 km/It
