In the formula 1+nk, k is the number of distinct meeting points possible, n is just any natural number. Since nk must be 10 for the 1st and 11th meeting point to coincide, we say k must be a factor of 10. So, K can be 1,2,5 or 10. But only one distinct meeting point (k=1) isn't possible as min distance must be 300m. So, we check possible values of R for the remaining cases. Within each case, we have to ensure that 300m is less than or equal to half of R. Otherwise, the min distance won't be 300m anymore. Let's say 3R/5 = 300, it means R=500. So the meeting point which is at 300 m away in clockwise direction, will only be 200m away in anticlock wise direction. So, 300 more than half of R is not possible.
sir, In first question how can you say there will be 3 distinct point. you did wrong.
last question is not easy
sir, why did we can 2r/5 and 3r/5 since they are racing on a track, they must be running in the same direction and hence, they will first meet at r/5 or r/10 or r/3 and can also directly meet for the first time at the starting point. These should ideally be the four cases taken. Isn't it?
