Declination means gradual decrease in its popularity. So there were developments in Buddhism but very less when compared to Hinduism. From its declination we mean it got diverted from its original teachings and gradually started becoming unpopular

ok ....thankyou mam.
Can you please mention vasubandhu was patronized by which gupta ruler ?
She seems to be talking about a certain group i.e Mahayana Buddhism(Gautam Buddha). Mahayana Buddhism did not existed. They did not belief in idol worship. On other hand Hinayana came a long way as Gupta Period patronised the fact, that Nalanda University was built and idol worships of Lord Buddha came into force and was in its peak. So in this case its'a part of Buddhism (Mahayana) which lost its existent especially in Gangetic plains. It was from Kushans onwards Mahayana Buddhism was losing its existence and in Gupta Empire it was gone. Hope this answers your query.

you are just reversed the concept of hinayan and mahayan( idol worship believers)
WHEN BUDDHISM WAS ON DECLINE IN GUPTA PERIOD THEN HOW COME NALANDA UNIVERSITY WAS ESTABLISHED BY KUMAR GUPT....ANY INSTITUTE IS ESTABLISHED ONLY WHEN ITS IDEA/CONCEPT FLOURISHES IN THE SOCIETY
