  2. Q no 7; What are your long term goals? Interviewer Expectations: . Expects to understand your clarity of thoughts . Filters out non serious candidates .Whether you understand the career path in that organisation Understands how long/well you will fit in the organisation How to ace the question . Do NOT say vague things like "I want to be the CEO of xyz, I want to own 100 cars etc" . Your gaols should be SMART i.e. Specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely

How to answer the question Start with your RELEVANT professional skills, experience or interest Talk about where you see yourself in 10 years professionally as well as personally Follow the SMART goals structure while framing an answer . In personal life do NOT say extremely personal things but how you will be making a difference to your near n dear ones or to the society


  4. How to answer the question Research about the company and understand your expected career path if you join it. For B schools, understand the kind of placements & opportunities you will get there Use this research to articulate the goals. Your goals must be in line with the opportunities that you will get here. Eg. If a company will help you reach the xyz post in 10 years, you can say that reaching that post is my goal. If a B school provides you great consulting job, you can say that you want to see yourself as an established consultant with ABC experience . Do add some personal touch by adding personal, social goals

Start with your current situation, qualifications and skills Then speak about your short term goals in the time frame of 3- 5 years eg completing the degree with distinctions, securing xyz job in xyz field, learning new languages or professional tests etc. . These short terms goals should fit in the scheme of your long term goals. DO NOT say superfluous things like "getting a job", "reading a book" etc
