Q no 11: Tell me about a situation where you displayed leadership quality? Interviewer Expectations: . Expects you to tell him something you might have missed till now . Wants you to give them reasons of differentiation . Wants to understand your definition of leadership . Wants to understand your leadership style How to ace the question . You can answer with any professional situation, but back it up with your learnings . Leadership can be demonstrated even in a non leadership role
How to answer the question . Briefly explain the situation or scenario at hand Clearly state the problem being faced . Explain you decision and plan of action & reasons for that . Conclude with your learning from the situation. Situations that you can talk about include fests, group projects, conflict resolution, job issues etc
SAMPLE ANSWER: DO NOT COPY AS IT IS A GENERIC EXAMPLE During my stint as the xyz analyst in the abc division of abc company, we had a major issue with project deadlines. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we could clearly see that the project needed a deadline extension but the client was adamant to do so. Being the team lead, I took it upon myself to bring resolution to this issue. I did XYZ and ABC resulting in FHGJ. This episode me helped me understood the importance of BSJCBS in professional life andI try to apply it in my personal life as well.

Wants you to give them reasons of differentiation . Wants to understand your approach of conflict resolution How to ace the question . DO NOT use harsh words for others like fighting, bitching. Arguing etc. Instead use words like "difference of opinion" While answering stay unbiased and present an objective solution rather than an emotional one
How to answer the question Briefly explain the situation or scenario at hand . Clearly state theissue/conflict at hand and difference in opinions .Explain your approach in bringing the resolution and it's reasons . Also explain any resistance you might have faced & how did you handle it? . Conclude with your learnings from the situation. . Conflicts that you can talk about are group projects, team conflicts, sports conflicts, job conflicts etc. Do NOT talk about personal conflicts with friends or family
SAMPLE ANSWER: DO NOT COPY AS IT IS A GENERIC EXAMPLE During my stint as the xyz analyst in the abc division of abc company, we encountered an issue with the approach to be followed for the handling of client complaints. Some team members wanted to take approach A and the others wanted to stick to B. This difference in opinions escalated pretty quickly and the team almost split itself into two factions. As the discussions reached a stalemate, I decided to reason out with my colleagues. I suggested a cost benefit analysis to be done for both the approaches and pick the one which saved us time and money. Consequently, we decided to take option A and progressed with our work. This situation helped me understand the importance of objectivity in workplace
