  4. So, what is special about GSAT 11 It is called as the Big Bird. It is the heaviest (5854 Kgs) and the most advanced communication satellite . Next generation High Throughput communication satellite. Provides high data rate connectivity to Indian Mainland and Islands using Ka Band and Ku Band. This will have 40 transponders (32 in Ku Band and 8 in Ka Band) Cost was 1200 Crores Expected to work 15 years.
