Socialist

A socialist is someone who thinks about the society as a whole. A socialist can be hard to define properly. They believed that the society and the workers should have control over the means of production. Thus, the economic philosophy is known as “socialism”. In the modern era the socialists have a different variety of beliefs. They have the beliefs in the control of Governments in production of goods, business, ownership of lands, taxation etc. 

Socialist 

The term “socialist” originated in the 19th century, when they were known as the Marxists. A socialist is someone who practices socialism. They have the system based ideology on the public ownership, control over public resources, distribution of goods and services, control over the resources by the Government. Their ideology does not involve or support the ownership of private individual. Their main aim is to centralize the community as a whole. As per their ideology the things that are needed to produce services or goods such as the labor, raw materials, factories and tools. According to the socialists these are the “means of production”. The socialists believed that the means of production mainly owned collectively rather than the private organizations. The word socialist can also be described as the things which involve the countries, socialism programs or economies. Most of the socialists who believed in the Marxist theory think that some essential services such as education, food and health care should be provided by the Government to the citizens. According to them, the workers who produce the goods together should have equal access to everyone. Most socialists have agreed with the idea and theories of the ideology, but a nation cannot be democratic and socialist at the same time. The misconception of the socialists is that they think that there will be no private property or organizations in a society. The urge to remove private property or community is a part of communism. 

Socialism meaning

Socialism is the economic philosophy or the accompanying politics. Socialism includes both economic and social theory. Socialism values and belief in fulfill the individual needs by working together. They have the belief that the people who help in producing goods and services, everyone should have an equal share in those productions. Socialism makes demands to the government that to make goods and materials with the help of the machineries and factories. Socialism ideologies believe that the Government should set the wages of the prices and workers. As per the concepts of socialism, every person such as doctors, teachers, bakers, accountants, clerks etc all should have paid the same salary by the Government.

The followers of the socialism ideologies demand the public ownership rather than the private ownership. They protest against private control over natural wealth, property and resources. As for their ideology, what the common people produce are social products and only the Government has the right to control it. Socialism ideologies believed in the concept of “society as a whole”. Socialism is the opposite of capitalism theory, because capitalism is based on the private ownership of goods, production and properties. Capitalists make the society unequal, because by following the capitalism theory some people become so rich and some other people become poor. On the other hand the socialists want the true freedom, equality and the proper social control by the Government. Thus the socialist or the Marxist Karl Marx made the demand for the equality and equity of the common people in 1848 in his “Manifesto of the Communist Party”. 

Socialism examples

The main features of socialism are no competition, equality, ownership of public property, egalitarian society, price control etc. Therefore, as per the history, socialism has been practiced by so many countries. If the countries have not declared themselves as socialist they will not be labeled as the socialist countries. A few countries have declared themselves as a socialist country. Some of them are- Soviet Russia, Republic of India, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, Algeria, Nepal, China, Cuba, Vietnam etc. These countries declared themselves as socialist countries on the other hand some other countries have declared a few parts or states of their country as socialist states. A country’s socialism has reflected on their health care system, economic system, and corporation and education system. A socialist state, republic or country referred to as the “worker’s state or republic”. The socialists states are mainly governed by the Marxist, communist or Leninist parties. These countries mainly include the terms “socialist republic” or” people’s republic” at the end of their country name.
