Public Service Commission

State Public Service Commission (PSCs) are constituted under the constitution of India. The West Bengal public service commission is also a constitutional body that acts under the Government of India Act 1935.

What is the Public service commission in West Bengal?

“Public service commission” is the constitutional body mentioned in the constitution of India under the section of state public service commission in article 315. History of the development of public service commission

During the raising of the democratic demand by the Indians, a public service commission had been established. In 1856, when the educated Indians had demanded to join the civil service, the National Congress of India had started conducting an examination named ICS exam for both India and England.. Due to an increase in supplementary demand, the Lee commission had been established in 1924 and a public service commission had been set up in 1926. Provision of the Government of India act 1935 related to the public service commission was almost adopted in toto in the constitution of India. This is considered the emergence of the West Bengal Public Service Commission in 1937 and it also helped in the transformation of the public service commission.. 

Where is the Public service commission form available and how to fill that up?

Article 315 to 323 of part XIV of the India constitution is constituted for the development and proceeding of the public service commission in every state. Article 316 constitutes that the governor of West Bengal appoints the chairman and other commission members. Additionally, article 319 states that a person who once holds the office, after the expiration of the role cannot be reappointed again. Article 317 is used by the government of West Bengal and other states for the suspension or removal of the chairman or any other members in the office. This order of removal must come straight from the President’s office. An enquiry commission will be set up if any officer needs to be removed or suspended. Article 320 constitutes the examinations that appoint candidates in the respective vacancies. According to article 323 state commissions must report back to the governor of the state. The different departments of the public service commission have to give information about their vacant designations to the higher authority of the public service commission.
