The department of housekeeping in hotels and bungalows ensures the room’s aesthetic appeal, maintenance, cleanliness and areas of public. This department not only cleans and prepares guest rooms in a proper method by turning around but they also maintain and clean everything on the property in a similar and fresh attractive manner after opening this organization. Their effort provides the guests with a desirable and comfortable room that bears the experience of guests directly. In comparison to any other department, this housekeeping department engages more employees to work better. As this department is responsible for the room’s turnaround in respect of time, there they primarily communicate with the reception or front desk team. The status of every room gets updated regularly from the front desk to the housekeeping team and vice versa. By using new and updated technologies, the status of rooms may be updated such as mobile applications of housekeeping, telephone systems, and hotel software.
The department of housekeeping coordinates with the engineering and maintenance department also, as their members and staff may easily identify any type of issues of maintenance at the time of cleaning and managing everything and report to their team to replace or rectify those issues. For instance, issues or snags with a heating unit, lighting, furniture, vanity, ventilation, AC, plumbing, electrical faults, toilet, towel racks, and tv issues within the organization. This department sometimes is considered as “the house back” though they possess contact with the managing team and guests directly. For example, laundry pick up, turndown or evening services, cleaning rooms and providing emergency services.
Housekeeping committees
The housekeeping committee is a broader concept as it works differently according to place and situation. It may include a committee for general purpose, house committee, library, and joint committee on allowances and salaries of members. The committee of general-purpose considers all matters regarding house affairs that are not included in any parliamentary committee jurisdiction. In this committee, the structure has made such a type that a presiding officer, its chairman of ex-official, speaker of the deputy, household leaders, and a chairperson of all sub-department of the committee. The president’s office nominates all members of this committee and distributes their work. He also examines their working. Apart from this housekeeping committee, another existing committee is the house committee. It normally deals with members’ residential accommodation and amenities such as medical aid and food following their respective hostels and houses in Delhi. All of the houses have a respective particular committee. It is formed by 12 members in the Lok Sabha.
In the housekeeping committee, another type of committee is the library committee. This committee handles all matters relating to the parliament library and helps members to utilize opportunities of services. This is generally formed by 9 members who are most responsible for their respective working in their particular field. Apart from this committee, another housekeeping is a joint committee on allowances and salaries of members. This department frames payment regulation of allowances and salaries and parliamentary member’s pensions.

The formation of a housekeeping committee is made in such a way to provide welfare and benefit to students, general staff and their different institutions. While forming a housekeeping committee, they possess some objectives, procedures of work, and responsibilities that help all members of this committee to perform.
