Equality

According to the fundamental rights of India, it is stated equality among all people whether it is gender, race, religion, or the culture, community.

In the constitution of India, it is clearly stated in the fundamental rights of people in part III, article number 14 to 18 about the right to equality, that every person is equal in the eyes of the constitution. In articles 14 and 15, it is stated that within the Indian territory every person will be treated equally there is a prohibition in discrimination on the ground of race, gender, caste, sex, or birthplace. No special decision can be taken by the state in this field. In articles 16 to 18, it is stated that no nepotism, no untouchability, and no title will be barred.

Gender Equality

Equal treatment of people irrespective of gender

In this society, everyone has the right to live freely whether it is men or women without any type of discrimination. Even the constitution itself states that every human is equal in every field irrespective of caste, gender, race, profession, or status. Equality can also be defined as the same rights and same opportunity of every human in every situation to grow. In this situation or era, every man and woman are enjoying the same opportunities and privileges and this condition is growing at a slow rate but steadily. Even inside the family, if both females and males are treated the same it becomes the most suitable place to grow, prosper and learn values. Nations are required to learn the great value of gender equality to develop a society where both females and males are treated the same. Equal rights in every aspect as in politics, health, building infrastructure, or in any other profession will not only grow but also will take society to the next level. Women are looking for independence economically before marriage, it creates confidence to stand alone and stiffly without help from others which was not possible in the back days.

Gender discrimination

Gender disparity still exists in Indian society, being women in the society of India has to face the discrimination of gender at every level. In case the household tasks are confined to household staff, raising the children, and taking care of the family ignoring their degrees and education. In the case of the workplace, they have to face the limited chance to access the job opportunities and get the least amount of the salary for the same work. Gender discrimination is a disadvantageous or unequal treatment of someone just because of belonging to a different gender. Usually, this kind of treatment has to be faced by women the most. Gender wise the literacy rates in the case of India there are wide gaps between women and men. As per the census data of 2011, the literacy rate was 82.14% for men and the rate was 65.46% for women. Reasons are very valueless such as their parents are unwilling to send their girls to the school just because they feel there is no value to teach a girl child, or some parents feel girl children are not safe in the school, some feel they should serve their husbands and the family not belong to the school. The Indian constitution shares equal rights to both men and women to enjoy all the privileges.

Equality and Human rights

It is found these days that every man and woman have known their values and share the same field equally which creates a landmark in the country.  When any community reaches the equality of gender everyone enjoys the same privileges and gets all opportunities similarly as in the case of education, occupation, politics, or health.  People nowadays become more sincere to understand their rights but in India, most of the women do not enjoy the rights and privileges guaranteed because of a few reasons such as poverty, illiteracy, a patriarchal system in the family, no awareness among the women, inferior social customs, practices, and beliefs. This discrimination should be eliminated as much as possible to let live and let enjoy the privileges to the women who deserves.  In the fundamental rights of the constitution, there are strictly provided about the human rights to equality from article 14 to article 18. It is mentioned in articles 14 and 15 that every people is equal in the field of gender, caste, race, sex, and status everyone will be treated the same.  Article 16 states equal opportunity for everyone, no nepotism in the case of employment. In article 17 it is mentioned that the abolition of untouchability, which is not any kind of this behavior, will be tolerated by the law. In article 18 stated that no personal title or title given by others will be used.

Conclusion

Once all the discrimination will be eliminated every family and society will understand the value of the rights of equality. Whether it is for women or any other type of equality should be awarded by everyone. Every woman should create an example of and be the highlight for the next generation. Performance of India in the Olympic 2020 has become a current example where India won seven medals out of all the seven medals female athletes won three. This kind of performance shows the potential and ability of the Indian females out of this hard time.
