The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) conducts the WBCS exam i.e. West Bengal Civil Service exam in accordance with the State Services Recruitment Rules. The recruitment to the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe.) as well posts and services is made on the basis of the WBCS examination.
The West Bengal Public Service Commission examination comprises two parts – written examination and personality test. The written examination for West Bengal Public Service Commission takes place in two stages- Preliminary and Main examination. The preliminary examination consists of Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The main examination has both conventional type and Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type. The candidates selected in Preliminary examination have to appear in Main examination. The candidates shortlisted in the Main exam appear for the personality test.
