In Mathematics an Algebraic Expression is an expression that includes constants and variables with the algebraic operation like division, addition, subtraction, multiplication and many more. There are several types of algebraic expressions and they are monomial, binomial, trinomial, polynomial and multinomial. In this paper, the main focus was on subtraction. The term of subtraction was also called minuend and subtrahend and the outcome is called the difference. Minuend was that number or number of things that were taken first, from which the second number was going to be subtracted. It must be the largest number in the whole question. The Subtrahend is the second number and must have to be the smaller one. This is the number that is going to be subtracted from the minute.

The arithmetic operation of Subtraction happens based on a specific equation and that is Minuend – Subtrahend = Difference.
( – 7y + 16xy) – ( 5y + xy) = ( – 7y + 16xy – 5y + xy)
= ( – 7y – 5y) + ( 16xy – xy) (combining like terms)
= – 12y + 15xy
Here in this equation two values were taken and they are (-7y + 16xy) and (5y +xy). With the help of algebraic formulas, this equation has been solved. Here in this equation, the value of xy is variable. So the result depends on the variables that would be positive or negative.

There are various operations of Subtraction in real life, math and other scientific and programming functions. Thirty students from a school were taking part in the school’s annual function. There are a total of twelve hundred students in the whole school. In order to count the number of students who were not taking part in the school function, someone had to use the formula of subtraction.
This operation of the subtraction can be done in order to find out the difference between two measurements. Two walls or boundaries of different heights have been made. In order to find out the difference between two walls, the operation of subtraction has to be done.
