Prism-Lateral (or Curved) Surface Area

The lateral surface area of the prism is the sum of the area of the sides of the prism; it is calculated by multiplying the perimeter of its base with the height of the prism.

The sum of the area of its lateral faces or it can be said that the sum of the area of the sides of the prism. Similarly, it is the total surface area calculated by multiplying the perimeter with the height of the prism. Lateral or curved surface area is mainly used for any solid object. The calculation of lateral surface is done like the surface area of the prism is shown as S= (2 MULTIPLY by the base area)+ (base perimeter multiplied with height )where it is considered that S is the surface area of the prism. In this way, lateral surface areas have been used.

lateral surface area of a prism formula

Lateral surface area or it can be said by this way that LSA means the surface area of any object excluding the surface area of the base and top. It is used especially in the case of a prism: the lateral surface area will be the surface area of the prism minus the area of the 2 parallel sides of the base or the base and the top. For the triangular prism, the lateral surface area is the product of the perimeter of the base and top and the height of the prism or the distance between the base and the top. Similarly, the formula that is used to measure the lateral surface area of the prism is the sum of the rectangular side faces. The lateral surface area of the prism =ah +bh+ch or (a+b+c) h that mean (a+b+c) is the perimeter of the base of the prism hence it also means the lateral surface area of the triangular prism (LSA) = perimeter of the base multiply by the height of the prism.

lateral surface area of a triangular prism

Before starting at the surface area of the triangular prism let’s just understand the basic geometry of the triangular prism. a triangular prism consists of five sides. First, let’s discuss the bases of the prism, the base is triangular and both the bases are parallel to each other. And the distance between them comes to the height of the prism. Then the bases are joined together by the three sides which are rectangular and the angle between them is the same as the angles of the triangles at the base. now as it can be seen the geometry of the prism .to understand the triangular prism we have to understand the lateral surface area of the triangular prism mainly state that it is the sum of the sides of the prism so with that it can be understood that triangular prism has 3 sides that face each other. Here it can be said that the perimeter of one of the triangular bases and it can be said that it has a total of 5 faces, 6 vertices, and 9 edges that are both joined to each other by three rectangular sides. Lateral means belonging to the sides its mainly deals with the sum of the area for its side faces.

Application of triangular prism in mathematical calculation

The lateral surface area of the prism is mostly applied on the lateral surface area of the solid surface; it can be said that any solid surface requires lateral surface area. These help to calculate mainly surface area with proper strategies. The lateral surface area of the prism is mainly used for calculating the perimeter. It also helps flexible applications while allowing them to be more easily updated with new applications and capabilities. It’s also used as the applying theory for the engineers’ progress solutions it also helps in Designing for architectural work. Prism is also used for camping tents with triangular roofs. It also helps to study the reaction of the human eye to light.   It’s also used in some glasses that help to identify diplopic. The purpose of the prism in daily life helps to understand the purpose of dispersing the light into a spectrum or changing the direction that helps to change the direction of the light and its reflected. Prism in the lens is very special that is mainly used by the researcher as well as the doctor that help in regular invention and perception

Conclusion

This project is done on the lateral surface area of the prism which is related to presenting several properties as well as the formula of the prism. It is mentioned m that there are several types of prisms among which this particular assessment is based on the triangular prism. The application along with several pieces of information regarding the area of the triangular prism has been included here. A mathematical presentation and its use have been also mentioned above to understand its proper valuation in the field of mathematics through the curved surface of prism. Not only in math’s prisms have several applications in the study as well as in real life in various fields such as physics, chemistry, and in engineering.  These applications are used in the lateral surface area of the prism.
