Area – Area can be defined as a closed geometric figure occupied by a region. It is applicable for both 2D and 3D figures. It is measured in the squared length units and defined by the letter ‘A.’
Volume – Volume is a term exclusively for 3D figures. In simple terms, the volume gives us an idea about the total space a 3D figure holds.
As it is clear, both area and volume describe the space occupied by closed geometric figures but the area is for the 2D figures while volume is for 3D figures.
