Features of UMANG APP

The UMANG App serves as a base for A to Z government services and schemes. This required well organised, seamlessly-laid services for users. It aims to revolutionise the way citizens access government services.

1. The UMANG App has categories for users who sign in to let them find their related services conveniently. The categories are farmers, pensioners, students, women and children and many more. For example, if a user identifies as a farmer, related services like Buyers and Sellers( can sell products at better prices), crop insurances, etc, can be accessed.
2. The app is available in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
3. The app size is 18 MB and can be accessed through any internet connection. The app is distributed at no cost to the end-user.
4. The States’ services on the UMANG App are listed as 487 citizen-centric services from 101 departments of 27 States.
5. It includes 263 Union government services and 182 utility bill services with 59 Union departments.
6. The app provides unlimited access to government services related to culture, education, emigration services, employment, farming, finance, general services, health, legal, pensioners, police, public grievances, skills, social security, transport, utility, youth, etc.
7. It also allows users to access the Union government’s flagship schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna, etc.
8. The most talked-about feature of the UMANG app is the withdrawal and tracking of the Employees’ Provident Fund.
9. The app integrates the services of other synergy schemes and organisations to impact digitalisation significantly to revolutionise the way of governance. This includes schemes like Bharatmala, Bharat Broadband, Digital India, Industrial corridors, Make in India, National e-governance plans, Standup India, Startup India, etc.
