We all are afraid of something or the other in our life. Since the smartphone has become a part of our daily life nowadays we are afraid of smartphones too. The usage of smartphones is not a thing to be afraid of but due to uncontrolled usage and addiction to these technologies, we fear not being able to use our phones.

This fear or phobia of not being able to use our phone due to low battery or network cut-off can be referred to as cellophobia, since this phobia is not passed on from one generation to another generation we cannot refer to it as genetic but acquired due to our daily habits. This phobia brings with it anxiety attacks and tense situations for the brain.

Impact of smartphones on our lives

Due to our growing economy and advanced technology, smartphones have become cheaper and easily accessible to almost everyone in the country. Due to the availability of the smartphone, we have reliance on the smartphone for most of our work which includes communication, data processing, gaming, and entertainment.

Due to easy access in all the above-mentioned areas, we have lost control over willpower and our continued use of the smartphone on a regular basis. In the long run, we can feel the negative impact of these smartphones, which later on turns into cellophobia.

Cause of Cellophobia

The main cause of cellophobia is the uncontrolled usage of smartphones on a daily or regular basis. When we use smartphones without controlling ourselves we totally rely on smartphones for the work we do every day. This brings us to a  stage where we feel anxious, tense, or cellophobic and when we are unable to use a smartphone we feel scared. We feel fearful and relaxed confidence and experience anxiety about your tax and the need to use our smartphones as soon as possible.

Symptoms Of Cellophobia

Symptoms of cellophobia include the following:

  • Rise in the level of anxiety and tension in the brain.

  • Lack of focus and uneven thinking ability.

  • Increased level of sweating due to rise in pressure to use smartphones.

  • Decrease in social activity and decreased interaction among surrounding friends, family, and relatives.

How can Cellophobia be cured?

Phobia makes us uncontrollable in the field of phone usage but there are certain ways by which this disease can be cured.

These are as follows:

  • Doing more sports activities and exercises such as yoga, walking, running, and playing different sports. These activities will destructors from using a smartphone and engage are self in things that are helpful for our body and mind.

  • Engaging ourselves in activities such as singing, dancing, painting, writing, reading, etc. Engaging in these activities will decrease the overall engagement with a smartphone. The less we use our smartphones the less our chance of being a cellophobia personality.

  • Usage of smartphones in a controlled way. Smartphones offer multiple features such as DND focus mod and restricted mode in which the user can disable certain features or can use the smartphone only for a specific period decided by the user. Using these features wisely can enable the victim to decrease his or her Reliance on smartphones and cure himself or herself of cellophobia.

Conclusion

Smartphones play a very important role in our daily life since they became easily accessible to almost all the citizens of the country. The easy access made us addicted to smartphones due to our uncontrollable usage and absolute Reliance on them for the completion of our daily work. These negative habits lead to fear of not being able to use smartphones technically called Cellophobia. Symptoms of cellophobia include anxiety attacks and a tense brain due to the unavailability of a smartphone. Chalo phobia can be cured by engaging in sports activities and decreasing our engagement time with smartphones.
