House Rent Allowance
The house rent allowance varies depending on the city where one lives. It is divided into three groups. At X, Y, and Z class cities, the HRA cannot be less than Rs. 5400/- per month, Rs. 3600/- per month, and Rs. 1800/- per month. The HRA allocated to the cities in the X, Y, and Z categories are as chosen to follow:
- @ 24% of Basic Pay for Cities in Category X
- @ 16% of Basic Pay for Cities in Category Y
- @ 8% of Basic Pay for cities in category Z
When Dearness Allowance (DA) passes 25%, HRA will be revised to 27%, 18% & 9% of Basic Pay in cities X, Y, and Z, and then further to 30%, 20%, and 10% of Basic Pay within cities X, Y, and Z once DA crosses 50%.
Transport Allowance
The transport allowance is provided to cover the employee’s daily travel requirements. The TA for employees based in cities is 3600 rupees, while the TA for employees based is 1800 rupees.
Dearness Allowance
