The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) is a Ministry of Railways Autonomous Organization. It creates and administers essential Indian Railways information technology programs, such as the well-known Passenger Reservation System and Freight Operation System.
Among these are the Information System and the Unreserved Ticketing System. CRIS’s offices in Kolkata, New Delhi, Secunderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai, have cutting-edge infrastructure.
CRIS plans to hire Assistant Software Engineers and Assistant Data Analysts for current and future projects. The candidates’ scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022, which is administered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, would be the base to determine their selection.

Assistant Software Engineer (ASE) – Educational Qualifications: BE/ B.Tech in Computer Science or Computer Technology, Information Technology or Computer Science & Information Technology or Computer Applications, or Computer Science & Engineering, or MCA or B.Sc in Computer Science equivalent to a 4 Year degree course. Equivalent Degree from an AICTE/ UGC accredited university or related discipline according to guidelines of Govt. of India. The candidate should have a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (55% for SC /ST/PwBD candidates); and Scores as GATE as indicated.
Candidates with a ME/M. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering may also apply if they have the requisite GATE 2022 scores.

Assistant Data Analyst (ADA) – Educational Qualifications: B.E/M.Tech in any discipline/B.Tech / M.Sc (Statistics/ Operations Research/Mathematics)/M.E / MA (Economics) or B.Sc (Computer Science Engineering, which is a 4 year degree course) or MCA. Related Degree from an AICTE / UGC accredited Institution, with at least 60% marks or approximate CGPA (55 % for SC /ST/PwBD candidates) and GATE Scores as required.

(i) Only candidates with a valid GATE 2022 Score in addition to the necessary academic qualifications and meeting the age limits are qualified to apply for the needed vacancies listed in the advertisement.
(ii) Candidates with Normalized Marks fewer than the Cut-off Marks for their respective Category as shown on the GATE – 2022 Score Card shall be ineligible to apply.
(iii) Freshly appearing candidates or already appearing candidates waiting for results in the last semester of their certifying degree are also welcome to apply, provided that they get a minimum of 60%. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, 55% is the minimum required %. Also, all the candidates must meet all other eligibility conditions.
(iv) Under no circumstances will a round-off % age be acceptable for consideration for an appointment. The fraction of the percentage so obtained will be ignored, i.e., 59.99 percent will be viewed as any less than 60%.

Assistant Software Engineer (ASE) – 21 to 27 years old (as of the latest day for submitting a full application; relaxable by 3 years for Non – creamy layer and 5 years for SC/ST)

Candidates should be aware that only the Date of Birth provided on the Matriculation / Secondary School Examination (Class 10) Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be recognized by CRIS for assessing age eligibility, and no later request to amend it will be considered or granted.
Age Relaxation:
The maximum age restriction is relaxed for the following groups, as listed below, subject to the production of the necessary certificates. Upper Age Limit is relaxed by:
- 3 Years for OBCs (non-creamy layer)
- 5 Years for SC / ST
- 10 Years for Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities (UR)
- 13 Years for Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities – OBCs-(non-creamy layer)
- 15 Years for Individuals with Benchmark Disabilities -SC / ST

- The GATE 2022 Score would be used to rank candidates in order of merit. If two candidates have the same GATE 2022 score and All India Rank, the one with the earlier date of birth will be placed higher in the order of merit;
- If two candidates have the same GATE 2022 score and All India Rank, the one with the earlier date of birth will be placed higher in the order of merit.
- In the event of a tie-in date of birth, the applicant with the higher qualifying examination marks/ % shall be placed higher in the order of merit.
The Selection Process includes a written examination, Interview, Verification of Documents & Medication fitness acknowledgment. Document verification includes verification of Original papers related to age, qualifications, caste, category, and so on are verified, followed by a medical fitness certificate provided by the Medical Authorities in accordance with CRIS guidelines.
Appointment to the above mentioned positions is conditional on the candidate meeting the medical standards of the C-1 (Cey one) category as stipulated in the Indian Railway Medical Manual. Shortlisted candidates must undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Examination at a Railway Hospital as prescribed by CRIS. Acceptance of membership is contingent on the Medical Fitness Certificate provided by the Medical Authority.

Assistant Software Engineer (ASE) & Assistant Data Analyst (ADA) – 7th CPC Level 7 + DA as well as other Allowances per CRIS Rules (Basic Pay + DA at the start of the grade will be around Rs. 60,000 per month)

For unreserved/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants, the application cost is Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) + GST (18%) + Bank charges (where applicable). There is no application cost for SC/ST/PWD applicants or women.
Unless the candidate is exempt from paying the charge, the fee must be submitted through SBI MOPS after a successful registration.

1. Applicants can submit applications online via the CRIS website at www.cris.org.in, under the category “Careers.” Other modes of application are not entertained. When the applications are received in any other manner, they shall be summarily rejected and will not be accepted.
2. The ‘Instruction Page’ has comprehensive instructions required for completing the online application. Before making any entries or selecting alternatives, the candidate should carefully go through the instructions.
3. After completing the application online, candidates must print a copy of the completed online application & keep it for reference.
4. Applicants need not mail or hand-deliver printed copies of their application forms or any further documents to CRIS.
5. Candidates are encouraged to apply for only one online application. If any candidate submits numerous online applications, they must make sure that the online application which has the higher Sequence of the Application Number is considered complete in all aspects, along with the corresponding fee.
6. Candidates who are involved in submitting multiple applications online should be aware that CRIS will only entertain the online application which has the higher Sequence Application Number and fees paid against the corresponding “Application Sequence Number” will not be considered to be adjusted against any other “Application Sequence Number.”
7. Once an application is filed, it cannot be taken back, and any fees paid will not be reimbursed or changed.
8. Candidates must have an effective private email address that is active throughout the recruiting process. All key communications, such as the user ID, application sequence number, and password will be forwarded to the same registered & authorized email address. (Please verify that emails received to this address are not sent to the respective junk/spam folder or cellphone number.)
9. Applicants should be vigilant while filling out the online application and submitting accurate information. Before submitting your application, you may edit any information. Once submitted, the application cannot be changed.
10. Candidates should apply online well in advance of the closing date rather rather than waiting until the last minute to prevent system or technical congestion.
11. Before applying online, candidates must have a digitized image of their recent passport size colored photograph, signature, and all relevant documents/details related to eligibility criteria, such as a caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC(NCL), EWS, PwBD, and No Objection Certificate (NOC) for attaching as per the specific requirements.
STEP ONE (SIGN-UP):
a. Candidates can apply online by going to the CRIS website at www.cris.org.in and clicking on the “Careers” page.
b. Candidates will be sent to the instructions page, where they must agree the terms and conditions by checking the ‘I Agree’ box and pressing the ‘Start’ button.
c. When joining up, candidates must ‘Register’ using a valid E-mail ID and Mobile Number.
d. Because the login information and password will be delivered to the E-mail ID and Mobile Number supplied, applicants are encouraged to double-check the accuracy of the Email ID and Mobile Number before proceeding.
STEP-II: a) After signing up, the candidate must re-login and click on the “Go-To Applications” tab at the top right corner, select his/her category and other mandatory details, and complete Personal Details, Qualification Details, Eligibility Details, GATE Score Card Details, and upload photo, signature, and scanned relevant certificate, among other things.
b) Scanning Instructions for Photograph/Signature and Certificate: Candidates must upload a scanned (digital) image of their photograph, signature, and applicable certificate in jpg/jpeg format as shown below:
* Photograph Image: The photograph must be a current passport size color photograph on a bright backdrop, with a maximum file size of 100 kb in jpg/jpeg format.
* Signature: The candidate must sign on white paper using a black ink pen. The signature must be signed exclusively by the applicant and no one else. Please just scan the signature area, not the full page. The file size should be no more than 100 kb in jpg/jpeg format.
* Other Certificates Scanned appropriate certificates for EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/NOC. The file size should be no more than 500 kb in PDF/JPG/JPEG format.
After submitting your photo, signature pictures, and necessary certificate, click the “Submit” button to submit your application. and “Your application has been successfully submitted and Payment is waiting (if applicable)” will appear on the screen.
STEP III (Payment of Application Fees, if any):
After submitting the application, applicants will be led to the SBI MOPS Payment Gateway to deposit the fee of INR 1000+18% GST + Bank Charges (if applicable) via Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI.
