Vice-Presidents of India

A Vice-President is a deputy to the President of the country. They are secretaries concurrent to the head of state of India and are supposed to take the position of the President on events like untimely death, disability, or resignation of the President. Currently, the Vice-President of India is Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu. He is the 13th Vice-President of India. He was born on 1 July 1949 in Nellore’s district in Andhra Pradesh. He holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and diplomatic studies, which he completed from V.R. College in Nellore itself.

He is a great orator who convinces his thoughts and opinions very effectively that catches the audience’s attention. Earlier, he was the minister for 3 different cabinets, the ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation, Information & Broadcasting and Urban development. He took his oath on 11 August 2017

A Brief Description: Few Vice Presidents of India 

Mohammad Hamid Ansari

He is an Indian legislator and retired representative appointed as the 12th director of Rajya Sabha and 12th V.P. of India from 2007 to 2017.

He was selected as the Vice-Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University from 2000 to 2002. Later, he also became the National Commission for Minorities chairman from 2006 to 2007.

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat

He served as the eleventh Vice-President of India. He served from August 2002, when he was chosen for a five-year term by the appointive school following the demise of Krishan Kant. He surrendered on 21 July 2007, subsequently losing the official political decision to Pratibha Patil. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan multiple times.

Krishan Kant-

Krishan Kant was born on 28 February 1927 in Kot Mohammad Khan, a Tarn Taran area in the Punjab Province of British India. He was an Indian Politician who served as the 10th V.P. of India from 1997 until his passing. Previously, Kant was the legislative leader of Andhra Pradesh from 1990 to 1997. In addition, he was a Member of Rajya Sabha from Haryana and an individual from Lok Sabha from Chandigarh from 1977 to 1980 

Kocheril Raman Narayanan

He was an Indian legislator, ambassador, academician and lawmaker who was the ninth Vice-President from 1992 to 1997.

Shankar Dayal Sharma

He was the 10th leader of India, serving from 1992 to 1997. Preceding his administration, Sharma had been the Vice-President of India, serving under R. Venkataraman. Likewise, he was the Chief Minister from 1952 to 1956 of Bhopal State and Cabinet Minister from 1956 to1967.

Ramaswamy Venkataraman

He was an Indian legal counsellor, Indian freedom lobbyist and government official who served as a Union Minister and the eighth leader of India. He concentrated on regulation and rehearsed in the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He was an extremist of the Indian freedom movement and took part in the Quit India Movement in his youth.

Mohammad Hidayatullah

He has served as Chief Justice of India from 25 February 1968 to 16 December 1970. He was also the Vice-President of India. He had likewise filled in as the acting leader of India.

Basappa Danappa Jatti-

He was an acting leader of India from 11 February to 25 July 1977. The calm Jatti rose from a modest start as a Municipality party to India’s second-most elevated office during a five-very long term chequered political vocation.

Gopal Swarup Pathak

He was the appointed authority in Allahabad High Court 1945-46, individual from Rajya Sabha 1960-66, Union Minister of Law 1966-67, Governor of Mysore state 1967-69 and Chancellor of Mysore University, Bangalore University and Karnataka University.

Varahagiri Venkata Giri

He was an Indian Government official and dissident who filled in as the fourth leader of India from 24 August 1969 to 24 August 1974. He was the main President to be chosen as an autonomous candidate. 

Zakir Husain Khan

He was an Indian financial expert and legislator who filled in as the third leader of India from 13 May 1967 until his passing on 3 May 1969. 

Conclusion

The Vice-President of the country holds great responsibility and importance. They hold the second-highest position in the constitutional office right after the country’s President.
