LIST OF TIGER RESERVES IN INDIA

Tiger reserves were launched under the project tiger by the Indian government in 1973 to protect different species of tiger. India is the home of around 70% of the world’s tigers indicates the importance of tiger reserves in this country.  There are 52 places in the list of tiger reserves in India that indicate that the Indian government mainly focuses on protecting endangered species of tigers. The latest addition to tiger reserves in India

Around 52 tiger reserves are in India in 2022 that play a significant role to protect several species of tiger. It is required to protect tigers in different protected areas for their cultural, ecological, economical, and aesthetic values. “National Tiger conservation authority” declared two more protected areas for making tiger reserves in India. “Ratapani tiger reserves” in Madhya Pradesh and “Sunabeda tiger reserves” in Odisha are ready to get approvals as a tiger conservation area. “Kudremukh national park” also got final approval to become a tiger conservation area. There are many places such as “MM hills” in Karnataka, “Guru Ghasidas national park” Chhattisgarh, “Ramgarh Vishdhari” in Rajasthan got approvals as a new tiger reserve in India. These are the latest protected places that got approval from the authority to be treated as a tiger conservation area and protect tigers from human interactions effectively.

Conclusion

Tiger reserves play an important role in India to protect different species of tiger. Around 52 tiger reserves in India are protected under section 38V of the wildlife protection act. The state government notified an area for tiger reserves and the “National Tiger Conservation Authority” gave approvals to make a protected place for tigers. The present article gives a better understanding of the importance of tiger reserves in India. The state-wise list of tiger reserves and list of tiger reserves in India is described in this article to understand the accurate area of each conservation area. The state government identified some new places in different states such as Karnataka, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh to make new tiger reserves in India. NTCA gives approvals for these places under the “wildlife protection act 1972” to protect tigers in this country.
