Largest Bird Sanctuary in India

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, officially referred to as Keoladeo National Park, is one of India’s major tourist attractions as well as the largest global bird sanctuary, full of thousands of birds representing over 230 species. It’s also in the Rajasthani city of Bharatpur.  It is a man-made structure where native and migratory migratory birds, particularly water birds, build their nests. It’s worth noting that this location was previously a waterfowl shooting site for nobility and also the British, but in 1971 everything was transformed into a sanctuary protecting birds and other species.

A Jeep Safari or a Rickshaw Safari to see unusual birds and creatures that live in the bush is an attraction of the Bharatpur Bird sanctuary.

• Keoladeo National Park is located on Keoladeo National Park Road in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
• August, October, November, and February are the best months to visit.
• Indians pay INR 50 per person; foreigners pay INR 400 per person; rickshaw rides cost INR 100.
• Hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Famous for Cranes, pelicans, geese, ducks, eagles, hawks, shanks, stints, wagtails, warblers, wheatears, flycatchers, buntings, larks, plus pipits were among the birds seen.
• Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary was designated as a protected sanctuary in 1971. 
• UNESCO has assigned Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary a World Heritage Site. 
• This sanctuary is home to around  350 bird species.
• According to reports, Bharatpur Sanctuary has been spread into 2873 hectares. 
• It’s maintained by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.
