NATO’s full form is The North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO is also known as the North Atlantic Alliance. It is an intergovernmental military alliance, and there are 30 member states in NATO. There are 28 from Europe and 2 from North America. When this year’s G20 summit meeting was held, all the NATO members were invited to attend the Summit.
What is G20?
The G20 is an intergovernmental forum that contains the European Union and the 19 countries. The G20 group is made to solve the major issues of the world, which are related to the stability of International Finance, the economy of the world, migration due to changes in climatic conditions, and sustainable development.
When was it formed?
It was founded on 26 September 1999 to respond to the world’s several economic crises. Since 2008, the G20 has been organised at least once a year. These summits involved the head of the government or, foreign minister, finance minister, and other high ranking officials. The EU represents the European Commission and European Central Bank. Many countries from international organisations and non-government organisations are also invited to the G20 Summit session. Some countries are permanent members of this G20.
Why was this group formed?
In 2019, the G20 declared itself supreme in international economic and financial cooperation during the submission. Joko Widodo is the chairman of this G20 group and is the President of Indonesia. After a decade, the value of this group rose, and analysts recognised this as exercising considerable global influence. The group was also criticised because it contained a limited number of members. As the G20 group lacks enforcement powers and existing international institutions, there is a lack of Summits. Still, whenever the Summit between groups was organised, the anti-globalisation groups always contained an issue or conflict.
What is its vision?
The central vision or agenda of the G20 group is to focus on financial growth, inclusive growth, and interrelated growth themes. The main purpose of the G20 group is to get all the important centralisation together and discuss the issue of economic globalisation in developing economies. The main agenda of the G20 Summit is organised in such a way that it contains side events of two leaders with three main working sessions.

- Global economy and global health
- Climate change and the environment
- Sustainable development

- Supporting SMEs and women-owned businesses to bounce back better
- The role of the private sector in the fight against climate change
What are the countries in G20?
There are around 20 countries in the G20. They are China, Indonesia, Canada, Italy, India, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, France, Mexico, Japan, Russia, the Republic of Korea, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, the United States, Turkey, the United Kingdom and other organisation who are invited as a permanent guest from the invitation. Seven additional leaders are the guest of this Summit, and the president of the Netherlands was also included in it, whereas Spain is the permanent guest of the G20 Summit. During the Russia Ukrainian war in 2022, the United States has suggested to the G20 Summit that they should expel Russia from the group G20.
The representatives of the countries who participated in this Summit are usually the
Leader of the European Union of 19th countries, the governor of the Central Bank of the 19th country of the European Union, and the Finance Minister. In addition, sometimes the Chairman of ASEAN and NEPAD are invited more than once.
G20 Summit 2021
On 30 October and 31 October 21, the leaders of the G20 met with each other for 2 days, and the G20 Summit was hosted by the Italian G20 Presidency, which was in Rome. The event of G20 was organised in Rome in which the president of Europe, Charles Michael and the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, represented the G20 Summit. The G20 summit meeting and the G20 except for the G20 leader’s declaration.
However, many countries participated in this G20 Summit.
Conclusion
There are around 20 countries members of the G20 group, and every year at least once the session is conducted. Every year the G20 group discusses the major problem facing the world, whether from financial, economic, or Global conditions. The main motivation of the G20 group is to make the countries free from any economic issues.
