“Banabhatta was the court poet” of emperor Harsha Varadhana, who was a great poet, prose writer of the 7th century, reign of 606-647 C.E.

Banabhatta created history by writing one of the first biographical histories in the ancient period of history. The most impressive thing about this court poet is that he included writing the book in poetic prose that brought along the interesting fact about the Harsha Charita.
