The World Environment Day occurs yearly on June 5th and it is the primary method of the United Nations to push and enhance awareness, and safeguard the environment. In the year 2019, world environment day was held again and this year it was held in China. China was the host and the world environment day theme 2019 was named ‘Beat Air Pollution. The reason behind choosing this theme was the increasing death rate of the people due to the polluted air. It was noted around 70,00,000 people were losing their lives due to air pollution per year.

The world environment day held in the year 2018 had a theme named ‘Beat Plastic Pollution. Moreover, India was the host nation this time. The aim was to reduce the usage of plastic so that pollution can be controlled.
