Following the Apprentices Act 1961, the Apprentice Protsahan Yojana started as  an initiative taken by the government which aims at regulating the programme of training of apprentices in the industry to utilize the facilities available for imparting on-the-job training programmes. The Yojana ran from Oct.1.2014 to March 31.2017.This is a scheme launched by the central sectors. This makes it mandatory for the employers in the particular industry to immerse apprentices in the designated fields to impart Apprenticeship training on the job in the organization to youth having National Trade Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) to formulate workforce for the organization.

This scheme encircled all kinds of apprentices, only Graduate is an exception. Technical and Technician also called vocational apprentices are encircled by the Apprentice Protsahan Yojana/Scheme governed by the Human Resources Development Ministry known as the Ministry of HRD.

This scheme was initiated with an aim to back training of 1 lac apprentices during the remaining time of the twelfth 5- year scheme by rationing fifty per cent of expenses on the account of allowance disbursed to the apprentices.

The budget allotted to the scheme is Rs. 346.00 crore.

There are four classifications of the Apprentices involved in the yojana namely;

  • Trade Apprentice 

  • Graduate,

  • Technician,

  • And Technical

Factors of the Apprentice Protsahan Yojana 

The Apprentice Protsahan Yojana has the following two factors.

Rationing of twenty five percent of allocated allowance issued to an utmost of Rs. Fifteen hundred per month as per apprentice with the workers. The allowance backing may not be provided amid the fundamental practice duration for freshman apprentices.

Rationing of fundamental practice expense in appreciation of apprentices who arrive promptly to apprenticeship training without any legal employment practice. Fundamental practice expenses would be specified to Rs. 75 hundred per for a utmost of five hundred hours per three months.
