General Awareness is the knowledge of an individual about the whereabouts in his surroundings. He/she must be completely aware of the activities happening around him/her.
General Awareness is simply concerned with the daily news from across the world and has little to do with historic occurrences. Many competitive exams are now based only on the awareness of general knowledge.
An individual who is well educated about the general knowledge of his country, the day-to-day things happening in his company will easily ace a competitive examination.
What Is Static General Awareness?
Static General Awareness refers to the active knowledge a person must have about his surroundings and things happening around him at general famous public places and services.
In simple words Static General Awareness or Static General Knowledge refers to the General Knowledge of the basic happenings around an individual whose static facts will never change, that is that they will remain the same all over time.
IAS Examinations, Bank Examinations, UPSC Examinations, SSC Examinations, Government Examinations, Insurance Examinations, Railway Examinations, etc. are some of the important Examinations that hold one of the topics in their syllabus as General Awareness.
Static General Awareness Related to Airports
An airport is a location from where aeroplanes and flights take off and land. It is a place where civilians visit or travel using the air communication way.
There are various types of airports-
Military Airports- This type of airport is used by the military to position and hold aircraft owned by the Indian Government.
Example- Kochi Airport in Kerala, Ozar Airport in Maharashtra, etc.
Civilian Airports- Airports used by daily civilians as a means of transportation are called Civilian Airports.
Example- Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, etc.
Static General Awareness Related to State Capitals
India is the seventh-largest country in the whole world. It ranks number two in terms of population. The country of India is distributed over land as twenty-eight States and eight Union Territories.
Every state in India has its Legislative Laws, Judicial Laws and Executive Laws which are to be followed by the citizens of that state. According to some sources, all three functions are carried out in the same capital. A Chief Minister is in charge of each state.
There are a total of twenty-eight state capitals in India. Each capital for each state.
Examples of state capitals- Patna, Itanagar, Shimla, Panaji, Ranchi, etc.
Static General Awareness Related to Currency
Currency is defined as the means of paying. It is the way of selling and buying things. In India, the currency we use is called a Rupee (INR).
In India, we use coins and notes to represent a currency. The symbol for currency or the symbol for a Rupee is, Rs or ₹.
In India, banknotes in the denominations of Rs.10, Rs.20, Rs.50, Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.500, and Rs.2000 are currently being issued and used by the citizens of India. Because they are issued by the Reserve Bank of India, these notes are referred to as banknotes (Reserve Bank).
Static General Awareness Related to Sanctuaries
A sanctuary is a place where animals are kept safely and are protected from the outside world for the remainder of their life.
Unlike zoos, a sanctuary is huge. It is bigger than zoos and gives every animal a place of its own and in abundance very much close to their original habitat.
Various plant and animal species that are on the verge of extinction or endangered are also protected and given a place for shelter in sanctuaries.
Example of Sanctuaries- Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala, Kaziranga National Park in Assam, Sundarbans National Park in West Bengal, Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, etc.
Static General Awareness Related to National Parks
A national park is a huge area of land which is conserved by the government for the protection and development of the environment.
The natural habitat of an area before it was a National Park is not at all disturbed including the plants, landscapes, area and wildlife. It is all kept in its Natural State.
A national park is a huge piece of land that is normally open to the public and is preserved by the government due to its natural beauty, vegetation, and animals.
Examples of National Parks- Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, Gir Forest National Park in Gujarat, Kalesar National Park in Haryana, Pin Valley National Park in Himachal Pradesh.
Conclusion
General Awareness plays a very crucial role in our daily lives. In competitive examinations, this subject is of a greater weightage. One must be socially and physically aware of the day-to-day happenings around him/her.
Static General Awareness refers to a person’s active knowledge of his surroundings and what is going on around him in well-known public locations and services.
General Knowledge is very useful in today’s world. Almost every competitive exam is now based on General Awareness regarding the topic.
