Introduction
Nowadays, the excessive burning of fossil fuels has started increasing the rate of carbon emersion in the environment. Therefore, the increasing carbon emissions rate has started influencing the rate of pollution. Based on this particular scenario, the present study will focus on the representation of discussion regarding fossil fuel and their impact on the environment. The current study will include the discussion sections that will include information regarding the sources of fossil fuels.
Definition of fossil fuel
A trace or impression of a dead organisms that has been preserved in the earth’s core for more than a thousand years with extreme heat and pressure have been referred to as fossils. Based on this definition of the fossil, it can be stated that the fossils that have eventually changed into a source of energy, have been used in order to create energy by burning those fossils. These kinds of fossils are called by the name of fossil fuels. As per the examples, coal, natural gas, petroleum and many more decomposed orgasms have been considered fossil fuels.
Definition of air pollution
The particular situation of the environment when harmful materials have started been introduced into the air has been referred to as air pollution. Air pollution has been naturally caused by the introduction of materials such as excessive carbon introduction into the air. This excessive carbon emission into the environment has started increasing the heat of the environment. This increasing heat in the environment has started being recognised as the main reason for climate change. Consequently, it has been seen that the weather is starting to get warmer as the emission of harmful gases like carbon dioxide, methane and many more.
Sources of fossil fuel
Three main sources of fossil fuels are mainly coal, petroleum and natural gas. Coal has been assessed as the cheapest fossil fuel that has the capability of releasing a lot of pollutants into the air. The burning of coal can create a level of sulphur dioxide in the environment that is harmful to breathe in. Coal power plants have been responsible for creating 80% of the mercury emission in the environment. On the other hand, petroleum creates harmful gases like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. The burning of this particular fossil fuel has created 40% of their pollution.
Effect of fossil fuels on the environment
As per the studies, it can be stated that fossil fuels have been considered the main influencer of different pollutions in the environment. On the other hand, other bad impacts of fossil fuels consist of land degradation, air pollution and many more. Including the other harmful effect that has been left in the environment by the emission of fossil fuels, the increased rate of water pollution needs to be talked about. The main impact of these fossil fuels lies in the carbon emission in the environment that has been recognised as a cause of the increasing rate of climate. The toxins that have been produced by several oil and gas wells and the transportation, the air has started becoming more harmful for the breath in.
Air pollution is a threat to the environment
Air pollution has been recognised as the world’s largest environmental health threat. As a consequence of the increasing rate of air pollutants and the increasing amount of pollutants that are regularly introduced into the air, 7 million deaths have been recorded all over the world on a basis of every year calculated assumptions. Several diseases have been influenced by air pollution, most importantly different studies have showcased that the core cause of having asthma and cancer is the excessive rate of air pollution within which humans are breathing. Pulmonary disease and other heart diseases have been influenced by the increased amount of pollutants the air is carrying.
Fossil fuel as the cause of air pollution
It has been seen that, among the identified major causes of air pollution, the flaming of fossil fuels like coal and petroleum in specific influenced the introduction of harmful pollutants into the air. As per the records, the majority of the people who have started suffering from severe diseases like cancer are the identified cases of breathing in toxic air with excessive harmful materials in it. The climate has started changing and as a consequence, the micro particles that are present in the air have started changing their patterns.
Conclusion
This current study has been focused on the representation of a brief explanation regarding air pollution focusing on the impact of burning fossil fuels. The current study has discussed the factual pieces of information regarding the statistical record that proves the harmful effect of increasing air pollution. This study has further included the rate of pollutants that have been introduced to the air. The study has included how the burning of these fossil fuels causes air pollution that has started becoming harmful to the environment.
