Circulatory System

Required oxygen and nutrients are delivered throughout the body with help of blood circulation. In the human health system, the circulatory system plays an important role.

The circulatory system in humans is used to pump blood from heart to lungs. In terms of spreading oxygen throughout the body, this system is considered essential. There are different types of blood circulation processes that help the human body to stay healthy. Systemic, coronary, and pulmonary blood circulation processes are the three most important processes of this system. In terms of decreasing the chance of poor blood circulation, the relevance of each step of this process needs to be considered. Three types of blood circulatory systems are essential to be identified.

The process of blood circulation

The blood circulation process consists of some important steps. The whole process is considered to be dependent on the efficiency of each integral part of this system. The blood is found to come in the right atrium from the whole body. Deoxygenated blood is then moved to the right ventricle and enters the pulmonary arteries of the lungs. The oxygen is mixed with blood in that step and this blood returns back to the heart by pulmonary veins. The left atrium plays an important role during this time. The oxygenated blood is considered to flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle and finally to the body tissue. This is the whole blood circulation process of a body.

Types of circulatory systems

There are mainly three types of circulatory systems in humans. All of these three systems work independently in order to maintain a healthy body.

  • Cardiovascular system: This system consists of the heart with two atria and two ventricles.
  • Systemic portion: This circulatory system is found to consist of coronary, veins, arteries and portal vessels.
  • Pulmonary system: One of the most important parts of the pulmonary system is the lungs.

Components of human circulatory system

The circulatory system of humans is often found to consist of some significant parts on the basis of which the whole blood circulation process and whole body function are performed.

Components

Importance

Heart

This component is important to maintain the proper pump and flow of blood in the body. The blood pressure level and heart rate are also managed by the heart.

Left ventricle of the heart

Pumping the oxygenated blood to the whole body is the most important role of this part.

The right atrium of the heart

Blood from the body is received by the right atrium and this received blood is emptied into the right ventricle.

Blood

The main task of blood is to transport oxygen and nutrients to all body tissues and to the lungs.

Blood vessels

Blood vessels help the blood deliver blood to various organs.

Veins

Veins help in carrying and returning the deoxygenated blood from body to heart.

Capillaries

Capillaries play an important role in carrying away waste products. This part of the blood circulation process is known to be the part in which the exchange of oxygen and nutrients with carbon dioxide and waste takes place.

Arteries

Oxygen-rich blood is carried away to the entire body from the heart with the help of Arteries.

Importance of circulatory system in humans

The circulatory system of humans has significance for a body system. In order to be healthy, a well-performing circulatory system is essential. Proper blood circulation plays an important role as a significant part of this system.

  • Oxygen is considered as the most required component of a body. The circulatory system is found to produce oxygen in the required places of a body.
  • Besides oxygen, nutrients are essential to be healthy. This system also helps in spreading nutrients into the body parts.
  • Muscles’ functions very much depend on the availability of essential hormones. This stem is important in this regard.
  • Removing waste from organs and body cells is another significant importance of the circulatory system of humans.
  • In terms of maintaining a proper fluid balance throughout the body, this system plays an important role.

Conclusion

The blood circulation process plays some significant functions within the body. Transporting gases, nutrients, and oxygen to the whole body is an important function. Besides that, maintaining fluid balance can be mentioned as an important function of the circulatory system of humans. In terms of protecting the body from infection, this system is considered to play an important role. Body temperature and other functions are often found to be maintained with an effective circulatory system.
