In this current study, the discussion will be conducted based on the information regarding the last sultan of the Lodi Dynasty who is Ibrahim Lodi. This particular study has included the discussion regarding the secession of Ibrahim Lodi and the cause of the failure of this emperor as well. In addition, this study has been aimed to talk about the life of Ibrahim Lodi in order to evaluate what kind of person or ruler he was. Besides the representation of these discussions, the study will further include the discussion based on the tomb of Ibrahim Lodi.
Discussion on Ibrahim Lodhi
In accordance with the list of rulers of the Lodi dynasty, Ibrahim Lodi has been found to be the last ruler of the Lodi Dynasty. Ibrahim Lodi has been described as the cruelest ruler with the worst religious thinker of the Lodi Dynasty. In the words of the historians, this particular ruler of the Lodi Dynasty has been recognised as a suspicious tyrant. In his ruling, Ibrahim Lodi started to alienate the noble courtiers from the royal court. His succession to the throne after the death of Sikander Lodi was being talked about as the main reason for the downfall of the Lodi Dynasty.
The life of Ibrahim Lodi
Ibrahim was Afgan by the blood which has influenced his preference for the religious choice of being Islam. In 1526, after the death of his father, the greatest emperor of the Lodi Dynasty , Sikander Lodi, Ibrahim Lodi ascended to the throne. In his ruling period, it has been encountered that Ibrahim Lodi was the most incapable emperor of the Lodi Dynasty as he lacked in developing perfect coordination for ruling the empire. For his over assumption regarding the stretch and weaknesses, he was crushed by Babur in the first battle of Panipat.

The Downfall of Ibrahim Lodhi
Depriving a major part of his sultanate, Ibrahim Lodi could save the throne and himself as the ruler of Delhi. However, the development of the rebellious acts and the political improvement in the northwest region had ruined his dynasty. In that similar period of time, a descendent of Amir Timur and Chengiz Khan, Babur has started to lose his grip on his ancestral land which is central Asia and started planning to develop a plan of conquering Kabul. Therefore, Babur has been able to establish himself as the sole ruler of Afghanistan. In the meantime, these two self-seeking nobles who came from Afghanistan in an attempt to save their skin have been involved in a battle. In this battle, the unfortunate emperor of the unexpected and wrong war planning, Ibrahim Lodi failed to save his throne and was killed by the Mughal invader Babur in the first battle of Panipat in 1526.
Causes of the Downfall of Ibrahim Lodhi
The main cause of losing the battle was the overestimation of the strength of Ibrahim Lodi. As an over-headed person, this emperor was unable to estimate the power of Babur as a sultan of Afghanistan and built the ground of the invasion of Babur towards the throne of Delhi by killing Ibrahim in the battle of Panipat. Ibrahim Lodi failed to maintain an effective administrative system, and it resulted in the blockage of trade routes that led to the degeneration of different trade routes. It was later on identified that internal wars started weakening the empire of the Lodi dynasty, and Zahir-ud-din Mohammad Babur mostly influenced it.
Discussion on the Tomb of Ibrahim Lodhi
Ibrahim Lodi’s tomb was built in Panipat, by using Lakhauri bricks. This tomb symbolizes the resting place of Ibrahim Khan Lodi. The rectangular grave is developed over a higher platform, and it is situated near the Tehsil office. The tomb has higher historical significance and it is reflected in the history of Panipat.

Furthermore, the study has also reflected that the last rulers of the Lodi dynasty were Ibrahim Lodi, and he has occupied the throne after the death of Sikander Lodi.
