This article is all about the complete procedure for applying for the recruitment of RRB Paramedical staff.

RRB PARA Application Process

For applying for the various posts under paramedical staff in railways, make sure you remain up to date as per the notification. 

Follow this procedure to apply for respective post – 

  • Candidates are required to apply for the publicised vacancies of any RRB only if they meet the qualifying conditions, but only through the online application option by visiting the RRBs’ official websites
  • Before beginning the application process by clicking the CEN-02/2019 link on the RRB official website, carefully read all or most of the instructions given in the CEN. It is critical that the candidate accurately understands all CEN material in order to avoid making errors during completing the registration form
  • Documents in JPEG format should be scanned and saved before completing the application. So the time will be saved at the time of filling out the application form
  • Explore RRB-wise vacancies for the candidate’s qualification and quota. Candidates are recommended to verify the post-by-post/vacant-by-vacancy/RRB-by-RRB vacancy positions published in the CEN to determine the vacancies notified against all RRBs
  • After reviewing the post-by-post/vacant-by-vacancy/RRB-by-RRB vacancy positions, candidates may select the RRB for which they intend to apply, verifying that a vacancy occurs for particular qualifications and community/EWS/PwBD/ExSM classification
  • Select the RRB vacancy for which you want to apply and confirm by clicking on the check box
  • Click on ‘New Registration’
  • Enter registration details including Name, Date of Birth, Mother’s Name, Aadhar Number, Father’s name, SSLC/Matric/Class X/ Degree/Diploma/Technical/Professional qualification, roll number, Year of Passing, Mobile number and email id. Submit the details for registration.
  • Verify email id and mobile number through the OTP received
  • A registration number and password shall be displayed on the screen upon submitting the primary details
  • Candidates will receive an OTP on mobile number and email. Proceed with filling up the application
  • Make the payment

Candidates who are already registered can proceed with filling the online application by clicking on the ‘Already Registered’ button on the home page using their unique registration number and password.

  • They need to provide educational qualification, religion, gender, community, category and other details
  • On completion of application, the candidate will be directed to the payment page
  • Choose the mode of payment (netbanking/credit or debit card/UPI) or offline challan or post office challan, and complete the payment process
  • If a candidate is making payment through offline mode, it may take upto two hours for the page to reflect payment confirmation status
  • In case of post office payment, the time period for payment confirmation could be between 24 to 48 hours

Photograph and Signature Upload

  • Candidates need to upload colour passport size photograph with white/light colour background
  • The photograph size needs to be 35mmX45mm or 320 x 240 pixels in JPG/JPEG format scanned with 100 DPI resolution
  • Photograph size should be between 20-50 KB
  • The photograph must have been taken on or after 01-01-2019 in a studio. Photographs taken using mobile and self-composed portraits are not acceptable
  • There should be a clear front view of the applicant without any glasses or caps
  • Face needs to occupy approximately 50% of the photograph
  • Main face features should not be covered by hair or any cloth
  • For candidates who wear glasses, the photograph should not have any reflection on the glasses or eyes
  • PwBD candidates need to upload passport size photographs as per above specifications only. Full body photograph is not necessary
  • Applicants need to keep at least 12 copies of the same photograph for future use

Specifications of Scanned Signature

  • Signature needs to be on white paper in black pen
  • Signature should be in running letters and not block letters
  • Image needs to be in JPEG/JPG format and have 100 DPI resolution
  • Preferred dimensions are 50mm x 20mm or 140 x60 pixels
  • Size should be between 10KB-40KB
  • Applicant needs to sign the form and not any other person
  • Signature used during registration and at the time of CBT/DV/Medical needs to match the signature uploaded
  • In case of a mismatch, the candidature may be cancelled

SC/ST Certificate

SC/ST candidates who opted for Free Rail Travel must upload scanned copies of their SC/ ST Certificates in JPG/JPEG format. The size needs to be between 50KB – 100KB. This is also needed for availing the facility of Free Travel Authority (Second Class Railway Pass).

P.S.  If the size of the file and photograph format, signature and SC/ST Community Certificate are not as mentioned, an error message will be displayed.

PwBD candidates who are eligible for scribe must choose the option for Scribe in the application form. Only Visually Impaired candidates or whose writing speed is affected by Muscular Dystrophy/Cerebral Palsy or candidates with Locomotor disability (one arm) or intellectual disability (Autism, mental illness or learning disability) can avail scribe
