RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of the Railway Recruitment Board for Non Technical Popular Categories exam depends on various factors. Candidates have to fulfil every specified criterion to appear for the exam. The details regarding every aspect of the RRB NTPC eligibility criteria are listed below-
RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria (as per 2019)
Nationality:
The candidate has to be one of the following:
- An Indian citizen
- Subject of Nepal/Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1st January 1962, for the purpose of being permanently settled in India
- An Indian origin person who migrated from Burma, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, and Vietnam for the purpose of being permanently settled in India
- It should be noted candidates who belong to categories ii, iii, and iv should have a certificate of eligibility that is issued by the Government of India
- Candidates who need to display the certificate of eligibility can appear for the exam, but the offer will be made only after the required certificate has been issued to them by the Government of India.
Age limit:
- The age limit mentioned in the Vacancy Table for the post(s) was calculated as of July 1, 2019.
- For 7th CPC Level-2 and 3 (Under Graduate Level Posts), candidates’ date of birth need to be between the dates listed below (both dates inclusive):

Notes:
- The above table contains community age relaxation in the date of birth limits for SC, ST, and OBC-NCL.
- Candidates who belong to one of the communities/categories listed in the below table will be qualified for age relaxation.
- However, for the following categories/communities, a relaxation in the upper age limit / maximum upper age is granted, subject to the production of the required credentials, as shown in the table below.

Notes:
- The birth dates limit given in the table undertakes community age relaxation, for SC, ST and OBC-NCL.
- Candidates who belong to the community or categories given in the following table are eligible for age relaxation, as applicable.
- However, for the below categories/communities, a waiver in the upper age limit / maximum upper age is permitted, after the submission of the required certificates, as can be seen in the table below.

- SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non Creamy Layer) candidates applying for unreserved jobs are not eligible for age relaxation.
- PwBD candidates applying for UR jobs will be granted an age relaxation that is specifically applicable to UR PwBD candidates.
- If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on multiple grounds, the maximum of the age relaxations for which he or she is eligible will be granted.
- It is important to note that the date of birth entered in this application must match the date of birth on the Matriculation/SSLC/Xth Class certificate or an equivalent certificate. Any subsequent requests for its modification will be ignored.
- Educational Qualifications: As of the end date for Online Registration, candidates must possess the minimum educational credentials listed in below table for the positions listed there. Those who are expecting the results of the specified minimum educational qualification’s final examination must not apply.

- Medical Standards: Candidates invited for document verification must pass the Railway Administration’s required medical fitness test(s) to confirm that they are medically fit to perform the tasks associated with the post(s) they have chosen. One of the most essential medical fitness criteria for railway employees is their visual acuity. The medical requirements are listed below:

Notes:
- The medical standards listed above are indicative and not exhaustive, and they apply to all candidates. Candidates should read Chapter 5 of the Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I, which is available at website of Indian Railways
- Candidates who have had Lasik surgery or any other technique to rectify refractory defect are ineligible for the Medical Standard A-2, A-3, and B-2 positions
- Ex-Servicemen are subject to different medical standards, as specified in Paragraph 534 of the Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM) Volume I, which may be found on the website of Indian Railways
- Candidates should double-check that they meet the medical requirements for the position(s) they are applying for. If a candidate fails to pass the recommended medical fitness for the selected posts, he will not be regarded appropriate for selection and appointment for that post and will not be given another appointment
