Winds result from the Earth’s surface being heated unevenly during the day. Uneven heating is caused by the earth’s ability to absorb solar radiation. The air becomes lighter and rises as it is heated. This causes a low-pressure zone to form. The wind is caused by the movement of air from a high-pressure area to a lower-pressure area.
Instead of reflecting off of Earth’s poles, sunlight hits its equator directly. In addition, the Earth’s rotation and revolution affect the Earth’s surface temperature. And this has an effect on the Earth’s weather patterns.
