Why don’t Two Magnetic Lines of Force Intersect Each Other?

Answer : Magnetic arcs of force comprise curving lines that are used to depict any magnetic field. Those lines don’t really exist, however they are fictitious lines that describe this magnetic field arrangement. These fictitious lines are considered to begin from this northern pole as well as go within the magnet towards the southern pole, finishing the loop.

Magnetic arcs of force have the following properties:

  • Magnetic field arcs start from the northern pole and end at the southern pole
  • Magnetic line concentration decreases as the range between two poles increases
  • The field arcs within the magnet are positioned from the Southern pole to the Northern pole
  • Magnetic lines don’t really cross one another

The explanation:

These two separate magnetic field arcs do not cross each other since if they did, the compass tip would be pointing in two distinct directions that is not practical.
