With the help of the force of extending spring, a spring balance measures the eight objects by opposing the force of gravity. The force needed to extend a spring is directly proportional to the distance the spring is extended from its resting position as stated by Hooke’s law.

Uses of spring balance-

  1. It is used to measure the mass of the object that is available in grams and kilograms.
  2. The spring balance can be used to hang masses and it consists of a cylindrical tube with a spring inside.
