What is the S.I Unit of Electric Potential (1) Ampere (2) Volt (3) Volt.m (4) Coulomb

Answer: The unit of Electric potential is generally Volts. Where 1 Volt is also equal to 1 Joule per coulomb.

An electric potential is a scalar quantity and is physically defined as the quantity of work which is needed to transfer one unit charge from one point to another in any space or medium.

How the electric potential is defined, it is done from the electric field. An electric field can be said to be the amount of potential energy per unit charge. Therefore, by relation to that electric potential can be defined as the same potential energy per unit charge.

The mathematical formula of SI unit is given by :

Electric Potential (V) = Energy (E)/Charge (C) = Joule/Coulomb.
