Answer: Impulsive force is defined as a force that acts on a body for a short period of time.

An impulsive force is primarily generated in a collision when one or more of the objects involved in the collision suffer a change in velocity or momentum.

An instantaneous force or effect is also referred to as an “impulse.” It is common to imagine this kind of impulse when the force produces a change in velocity without causing a change in time. 

The SI units of impulsive force are – Newton – seconds  or Kg .m/s

Impulsive force = Force × Time
