What is Mechanical Force?

A mechanical force is one that involves a direct interface between two items (one providing the pressure and the other in a resting state or motion) that results in a modification in the object’s condition.

There are three types of mechanical forces-

1.When a substance is subjected to stretching force ,which is said to be suffering tensile force or tensile stress induced in the substance.

2.When a substance is subjected to smashing or squeezing, which is said to be suffering compressive force, compressive stress is induced in the material.

3.Shear force is defined as the force operating in a perpendicular direction on a particular material.
