Answer: The apparent force exerted on the rotating objects due to the rotation of the earth is known as Coriolis force. The cause of this force is because the earth rotates faster at the equator and slower at the poles.
This force affects the direction of the wind. The winds in the Northern Hemisphere are deflected to the right and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere. This is known as Ferrell’s law.
