What are the Methods of Measuring Surface Tension?

Answer: There are numerous ways to determine surface tension, including the Jaeger’s method, the hanging liquid drop method, the maximum bulk pressure method, the Wihelmy plate method, the Du Nouy ring method, the capillary action method, the drop weight method, also known as the stalagmometer method, and many others.

The definition of the surface tension is as follows: – “The property of the liquids due to which, the free molecules of the liquids on the topmost layer arrange in such a way that they bear the minimum external energy and minimum area, to act as a stretched membrane.”
