The S.I. unit of momentum is______

Answer: The unit of momentum is Kgms1

The momentum p of an object is defined as the product of its mass m and its velocity v. Momentum is the momentum of a moving object and is measured as the product of its mass and velocity. That is, the momentum of

 P = m × v.

 has both direction and magnitude. The direction is the same as the direction of velocity v. The SI unit of momentum is kilograms meter/second (kg ms1).

 Linear momentum is defined as the product of the mass of the system and its velocity.  The amount of rotation of an object, which is the product of the moment of inertia and the angular velocity, is called the angular momentum.
