The Basic Unit of Speed is

Answer : The basic unit of speed is metre per second or metre/second. The SI unit of distance measurement is metre(m) and time is second(s).

Speed is equivalent to distance divided by time. Hence, the SI unit of measurement of speed is metre/second.

Speed is the measuring unit, and is defined as that of a physical object is the order of magnitude of the rate of change of its place or position  with time or alteration of its position per unit time.

The average speed of a physical object is defined as the interval of time in which distance travelled by the object divided by its total time interval.
